SPORTS
This close relationship with technology companies and sport scientists ensures that the B.E.S.T. Sports and Executive (business) program contains an unrivalled standard of advanced technology, equipment and expertise.
Overall Purpose
The purpose of the B.E.S.T. Sports and Executive (business) program is to optimize the psycho-physiological management of high level athletes and executives by utilizing an ideal combination of science, technology, IT, cybernetics, physiology and psychology. The result is an athlete or executive that optimizes performance during competition and recovery, and is more resistant to overtraining, stress, physical re-injury and physiological aging declines.
Objectives
The B.E.S.T. Sports and Executive (business) program contributes strongly to optimizing the team's results, be it a sports or business enterprise. The objectives of the assessments, training, ongoing studies and the research are to enable people to achieve their peak performance level as consistently as possible, to reduce the risks of burnout and to assist the training and technical staff, and club hierarchy in the optimization and management of human resources.
Players Health: the better the health the more valuable the player
The primary objective of the B.E.S.T. Sports and Executive (business) program is the optimization of the health of each person. The psycho-physiological well-being of individuals is the most valuable asset of a team as a whole. The consistency of a healthy, intact team is the hallmark of success from both a winning percentage and team/player satisfaction perspective, in both sports and business.
The Systematic Approach: the organization and the sum of its parts
The B.E.S.T. Sports and Executive (business) program focuses on personal development and continued success from a ‘cybernetics’ approach. The individuals and management are composed of various sub-systems which work in conjunction to determine the overall success of the primary system, the player and/or team. The overall productivity of the system is determined by the input of each single sub-system that comprises it: to maximize results as a whole it is therefore necessary to optimize the productivity of every related sub-system, collecting the greatest amount of information from all the areas involved in the process and sharing this information with the whole. This principle holds true within an individual (the subsystems of the body must be trained and optimized to work together) and between individuals (the workings and growth of a team).
The Functional Levels
The underlying philosophy of the B.E.S.T. Sports and Executive (business) program is an understanding of health as a total state of physical, mental and social well-being that is dependent on the balancing of three principal functional levels: neurological, physiological and psychological, that together represent the player’s health and ability to optimally perform.
Neurological: is based on the approach that emphasizes the intrinsic ability of plasticity in the brain and body; to stress, adapt and recover functions without drugs or surgical intervention.
Physiological: the body is a physio-chemical-biological entity, that adapts and changes dependent upon the stress applied to it. By applying optimal stress (eustress) and teaching players to effectively cope and reduce excess stress (distress), players reduce the risk of illness, overtraining and re-injury and slow physiologic aging and performance.
Psychological: the study and monitoring of the psychological state of the individual takes advantage of the ability of the B.E.S.T. programs technology to quantitatively measure and train an individuals focus, energy management, stress reduction, and mental recovery. The mental training takes only 20 minutes and takes place after every physical training session or at specific times during an executives daily activities. The program enables individuals to improve their mental and physical recovery rate and to provide scope for them to overcome negative stress.
The B.E.S.T. Sports and Executive (business) program centers around ‘5 core components’:
1. Psykinetics – the understanding and improvement of mental skills and strategies for peak performance.
2. Neurological and physiological skill and stress assessment.
3. Neurofeedback/biofeedback training for mental skills and strategies and physiological control.
4. Neurofeedback/biofeedback training ‘in the field’ (during skill execution).
5. Individual attention, trouble shooting and application of neurofeedback/ biofeedback skills in competition.
